At the moment my husband, our 13 month old daughter and I are living in a hotel in Hervey Bay. The town itself isn't really our cup of tea, but we are right across the road from the glorious beach with a view of the historic Pier and with heritage listed Fraser Island in the distance. I feel very lucky to be living in such a beautiful place.
We've been really blessed with beautiful homes the last few years. This time last year we were living on the South Island of New Zealand amongst beautiful blue glacial lakes and snow capped mountains. Two years before that we had a beautiful little flat on The Bay in Sydney, in a huge million dollar house, the bottom three floors rented to a family of five and the top floor rented to us - the nomadic newlyweds.
Before that we lived with our homes on our backs as we traipsed through some of the most beautiful regions that Asia has to offer and before that we lived in Melbourne's inner city amidst the lights and noise.
We've shared party houses in Perth, and lived out of our car and slept in a tent as we made our way across the Nullarbor. Life has been good to us and though we don't have the opportunity to move as often as we'd like (we average about every year at the moment), I love the feeling that any day our plans could change and we could find ourselves planning a new adventure and a new direction.
I honestly don't know where we'll be in a years time, or two or three, and I'm okay with that, in fact I thrive on it. But today we've just signed a six month lease, so for the next six months at least here we are, in our hotel in Hervey Bay.
